Before we actually get started on this amazing banana cake recipe, let’s clear up this question that always pops up.

Is there a difference between banana cake and banana bread?

Well the easy answer is YES!

Banana cake is normally like a butter cake with mashed banana added for flavor. Banana bread on the other hand is a lot denser and is often eaten in slices toasted.

This banana cake isn’t your normal banana cake I guess. It’s not light and fluffy, but it definitely isn’t a banana bread either. Maybe it sits somewhere in between!

Can Banana’s Be Too Ripe For Banana Cake?

You know those banana’s that are starting to turn black and you are thinking about throwing out? Those are the perfect bananas for banana cake!

The riper a banana is, the easier it will be to mash and the more flavorsome it will be in the cake.

Of course a perfectly nice yellow banana will work just fine, but don’t dismiss a banana because you think it is overripe.

Healthy Banana Cake

Remember I said that this banana cake doesn’t resemble your normal looking banana cakes?

But trust me, the flavors are all still all there!

Plus this banana cake recipe ensures that you are not filling your body with any nasty sugars, fats or artificial substances, so we will go easy on the cake thickness!

So what exactly makes this banana cake to make healthy?

It literally has only 6 ingredients.

  • Bananas
  • Almond milk
  • Raisins
  • Muesli
  • Eggs
