I bought a jar of Robertson's Mincemeat Classic . …………. I thought I might put a dollop on my plate of porridge to add a seasonal touch
Not something I'm a regular consumer of
Simple query …….. can you eat it from the jar or does it have to be cooked (eg in a mince pie) ?
Nothing on the label and can't really find a suitable answer via google

Mincemeat is traditionally cooked then cooled whilst stirring so it should be fine to eat "raw". A good one will have lashings of brandy in too so that should kill any nasties.
When we were kids my sister was very fond of mincemeat in an omelette. I wasn't so keen as her, though since I'm now diabetic its got far too much sugar in it now for me anyway.
